Instant downloadable PDF pattern for little 5" tall puppet mice with heritage toy appeal, sewn from mohair teddy bear fabric, boiled wool, felt or fleece plus small scraps of fabric. These small creatures are ready to be part of your holidaycelebrations in so many ways: ornaments, stocking stuffers, small gifts, tablescape components, garland/wreath additions, etc. Pattern includes 4 costume styles: little angel, Christmas lady, blue winter gentleman and lady. Use these costumes as a starting point to make your own characters, or make up a batch of mouse bodies and have the kids design costumes for them.

Intermediate sewing skills required, this project offers the opportunity to practice some specific toymaking techniques.

What you need for each mouse:

•Body fabric: 6” x  8” piece of mohair teddy bear fur (resource links in pattern).
Optionally, felt, fleece, or boiled wool (to prep boiled wool, see page 6)
•Arms, ears:  felt, fleece, or boiled wool
•Costume fabric:  tulle,
•Eyes: Opaque black glass seed beads - 3mm (6/0), 2 per mouse
•Thread: body: all-purpose thread— whiskers, eyes: button & carpet/button craft thread
•Polyester stuffing: small amount for head
•Faux suede cording (3mm) for yarn for mouse tail
•Card stock or index weight paper for pattern pieces
•Chopstick or turning stick
•Glue: Strong-holding fabric glue: Beacon Fabri-tac or Aleene’s OK to Wash It
•Pen for tracing patterns onto fabric
•Needle, scissors, etc.
•Disappearing marker for marking position of eyes and  nose
•Fabric markers for shading: pink, brown
